Attitude

Attitude

Is manner, disposition, and feeling towards someone.

Attitude could be for example a threatening behaviour; a relaxed behaviour.

Such evaluations are often positive or negative, but they can also be uncertain at times. For example, you might have mixed feelings about a particular person or issue.

How are different attitudes demonstrated?

Different attitudes can be demonstrated by many ways such as having personal experience in the past which would have led to cause a specific behaviour whether it is positive or negative.

They can be demonstrated positive by being nice, helpful, friendly and kind; by being negative you might be angry, selfish or greedy.

Why are they important?

Attitudes are important because you use them every day as you speak to people with different attitudes it depends on your mood.

For example if you are going to a job interview, you need to have a positive attitude but if you don’t you won’t get the job, but with friends you have different attitudes.

Give examples of tolerance, dependability and integrity are demonstrated in workplace?

Tolerance

Tolerance can be demonstrated in the workplace by being polite to colleagues and being mature and formal. An example would be that you would be putting up with other people’s behaviours and being positive and helpful.

Dependability

Define dependable. Dependable – capable of being depended on; worthy of trust, example: “a dependable employee does good work and is good at being on time

Dependability can be demonstrated in a workplace by not being late, always on time. Keep your promises and always do what you said you’re going to do.

Integrity

Integrity connotes strength and stability. It means taking the high road by practicing the highest business ethics standards. Demonstrating integrity in the workplace shows completeness and soundness in your character and in your organization. It shows that you have solid workplace behaviour ethics that matter in the real world that promote positive work ethics.

Integrity in the workplace often stems from moral and ethical behaviour. Making sure there’s no reason to question your conduct is one of the best ways to prove that you are an honest and dependable employee. Avoid using company products or equipment for personal use and submit exact receipts for travel or meal reimbursements. Don’t over-promise what you can’t provide and strive to meet deadlines. Work productively and cooperate during company meetings so you don’t appear lazy or apathetic, and don’t call in sick if you aren’t. By exhibiting responsible behaviour, you don’t give co-workers or clients the opportunity to question your integrity.

Different websites of employers valued characteristics

Some employers might have different valued characteristics for example some employers would want someone persistent and the other would want someone to be enthusiastic. It could depend on the job or the employer which would result to these valued characteristics.

http://blog.readytomanage.com/top-10-most-valued-job-skills/

http://www.ehow.co.uk/about_5506040_characteristics-employers-look-applicants.html

These two websites has some different most valued characteristics for the employer for example www.readytomanage.com website has a value characteristic that the other website doesn’t and that is persistent, this mean the capacity to follow through strongly to completion. The other websites valued characteristics for the employer has got a different valued characteristics , one of them is problem solving this shows the business could be involving problem solving with customers and you would need to have a solution for a problem.

http://internships.about.com/od/internshipsuccess/a/workvalues.htm

http://www.quintcareers.com/job_skills_values.html

These two websites has valued characteristics similar and the reason for this would be because most jobs the employer always requires main valued characteristics such as communication skills and that are what these two websites are required by employers and most valued. Communication skills is most valued characteristics because it involves all jobs and you would need to use at some point. In a job you would always need communication skills because you will always end up needing it for solving a problem, working in a team, presenting something or doing a written task.

What characteristics are most valued by employers?

Most characteristics valued by employers would be job and education; an employer wouldn’t want someone who doesn’t know how to do the job. Employers would want the employee to have skills for the job depending on what job you are applying for. Employers would prefer the employee experiences than inexperienced because that would show you know how it is in a work place. Having education relevant to the job you are applying for would be a positive impression to the employer as they would be impressed.

Honesty would be one of the most valued to the employer because it is very important to be honest to your employer, simply because anything could happen within the business and the employer would always think it is this employee and that would have a big impact on the business. For example most employers do honest tests so one of the questions would be ‘if you witnessed an employee taking money from the cash register what would you do?’.

Communication skills are important for an employee to have because that would be one of the most valued by employers. In a work place you would need to communicate with your colleagues and work as a team. Communication skills include customer’s service and speaking professional, this is important because in any job you would need to communicate with people for example your manager, customers or colleagues.

Danger of using IT communication

Research dangers of IT communication, ease of coping, loss of personal data, spam ect.

There are many dangers of IT communication because you could be chatting to someone online and you wouldn’t know who you are talking too for example kids could be victimised by older men (paedophiles), they would talk to them and the kid wouldn’t know who they are. This is one of the biggest problems now a day’s kids are being taken advantage of by older men or women.

Going on websites that has viruses such as advertisement, if you click on it you could get a virus and people could steal your personal details such as your bank details, information, pictures and passwords.

By not letting viruses enter your computer or a laptop you should get a proper firewall installed on the computer.
This will reduce the risk of malware coming in and/or install itself on your computer. The major impact is that it should prevent installed malware from contacting its server.

By getting a antivirus it would block viruses coming into your computer or laptop instantly.
